This is what Appleseed teaches. These groups were fired prone with a sling at 685 yards. No bipod or bags. Just me laying on the ground.

The Appleseed program is very welcoming to newer shooters but the skills we teach allow a very high level of shooting if the shooter can apply them properly. That normally takes more than one or two Appleseeds for everything to sink in.

I agree that you wouldn't want to bring a Creedmoor to a 25 yard Appleseed. Shoot one or two with a lighter rifle (10/22 or AR) then break out a Creedmoor for a full distance Appleseed once you're ready.

Sounds like what we went through in Marine boot camp. One solid week of snapping-in learning the fundamentals and different shooting (body) positions then a week of shooting (200-500m) on the range with a sling only.

I'm a longtime prairie poodle shooter. Thinking lately of building a long range rifle....If I can find a 1,000 yard range in Oklahoma. Does such a range exist?

Fouled Bore Precision in Ninnekah (near Chickasha) and Badlands Tactical in Grandfield both go to 1000yd.
