I don't know how CNG is compared to LPG, but back in the '70's and '80's, it was known that LPG was hard on engines. I'm not a mechanic, so I don't know details of what was wrong, but I know that if someone ran only LPG in their pickups and decided to go back to running gasoline, they had to do extra work to carburetors in order to do so. In addition, LPG didn't have the pulling power (we were dealing with farm vehicles) that gasoline did. And, unless they get a LOT MORE CNG stations in the country, I'm never going back to a compressed gas. I've yet to see a CNG station since we left Oklahoma 4 years ago. And I don't remember there being a lot in Oklahoma when we left. It's like the Tesla electric cars out here. Those owners buy their Teslas for whatever reason and then they drive through town wanting to "charge" their battery for 10 or 20 minutes because their phone app/Tesla "gauge" says they lack 10 minutes of getting to their next charging station, which may be over 100 miles or so away. (Our RV park is listed in the Tesla books as a charging location.) Also, the Tesla owners don't want to pay the price for charging because we won't charge "by the minute."
