Mine would get 500-600 best I recall on high. I used thermometer frequently.
Agreed. I was checking mine while finally cooking on it tonight (things got in the way last night). Was mostly right around 450 but peaked a couple times at 600.

Made pretty good burgers and home fries, although I'll use the fryer for the home fries next time.

My dad took a big THICK stainless flat griddle that Kips Big Boy was discarding and built a stand and mounted a long burner under it.
The burner was from a floor furnace and he hooked propane to it.
Great camping griddle.

I had a regular grill when I got my Blackstone. When I found the grill top for the Blackstone, I ordered one and relocated the traditional grill to Nebraska for use up there. Then I used the grill top on the Blackstone and had to buy another traditional grill for the house since I sent my other one to Nebraska.
Without a cover on the grill, it doesnt work well "for me". The GRIDDLE is amazing, but the Blackstone grill top left much to be desired IMO.
