Your date thing is kinda like owning an AR-15, do it if you like, don't do it if you don't like.

I don't go by dates or anything I can put my finger on, but sometimes I just get a weird feeling inside about something that there was no reason to have. Over the years I have learned to pay extra attention to it. It has paid off many times.
