Do you have any books that you think very highly of ? In regards to homesteading and or prepping. ?
I figured its time to build on the little library we have. I just recently received 4 books on topic of meats and what to do and how to keep.
You know once upon a time we did not have refridgerators.

I'm sure with 4 books covering the same subject that there will be a good bit of redundant intel but better too much than not enough. The 1 book has 125 recipes in it, so that in itself is a treasure. Once upon a time I was a boyscout so we just looking to be prepared for what may lie around the corner. I haven't yet got to spend much time in each book as Santa Claus is wanting them to be wrapped and put under the tree. So far though the $ spent is well spent in my eyes.

You can go to the library and look at the Firefox series of books. There are over a dozen. It started as a class project to try and preserve the knowledge of the older people in the Appalachian mountains while they were still around before they all died off.
There is some flat awesome stuff in them ranging from how to build a wagon wheel to a homemade muzzle loader barrel and all. An incredible amount of homestead- off grid mountain living type stuff. Take a LOok!

You can find used vols on ebay for a song 3-4 dollars sometimes. Man, I learned so much hillbilly get-arounds reading those things it is unbelieveable. You need a laundry basket? Well heck we will just make us one.

I remember one guy showed you how to make a ladder back chair. Showed how to weave the seat bottom. Even showed you how to make a wood lathe to turn the legs with nothing more than a handmade foot- treadle, a strap of leather and a springy sapling.

It is truly amazing what some of these old people did with nothing but the natural stuff around them out of necessity. You will like them, of that I am sure.
