Thought I would drop a note about the first shoot of the year at Firearms Solutions.
Sunday 7th of April. Registration is at 1100. Be hard pressed to really recommend places to get your grub in here in Duncan, but the pin shoot is pretty good. They are running three classes of shooters. Not exactly sure what OPEN means other than anything goes handgun wise. And Pistol Carbine Cartridge. Give them a call if you have any questions.

Open is pistols with red dot sights and extended mags.
Pistol caliber carbine is the other division which doesn't have restrictions on mag capacity.
Pistols with iron sights all shoot with only 8 rounds per mag to keep things fair between guys running 1911's vs Glock

Also Iron Sight class doesn't allow ported barrel either. Think next month I will try finding a load for my Power Ported 686 and try open with it.

Though not impossible, it would be extremely difficult to go far in Open with a revolver.

I think you would have a better chance with a non-ported revolver in the iron sight class. You would be competing against semis limited to 8 rounds before they reload. I’ve one seen one revolver go very deep in the field. I was trying to remember what David uses. Possibly a 8 round 929 or a 7 round 686. I’ve several others show up. 41mag 44 mag, etc. They clear the pins fine with one round if hit. But the spilt times and reload times get them.

I would expect, but may be wrong, to see the pins brought to toward the front of the table like we do in PCC. That is what we did at the last match at BDC. That might have helped influence Firearms Solutions slightly to add this division. But the owner now shooting open in USPSA May have been more of a factor!

Regardless, it’s pretty fun even when I do not do well!!

Open match from BDC left fired 11 rounds 9mm Major. Right 8 rounds .40.

Thanks for the input. I just shoot for practice. Shooting double action, needed for head to head with autos, was a new skill I had to learn and practice. Head to head against autos in competition adds a great stresser I can't normally replicate back at the home range. Thinking of going a round or two PCC with a lever action to see how long I can withstand the heat. Thanks again for the info. Have a great day.

Never done this before. Looks like a lot of fun.

So, you keep hitting them until they are off the table for time?
