It's sort of a toss-up for me whether undergraduates or campus security are more irritating. I have some pretty good campus security stories, including the time when 3 campos (and a TPD officer) rolled up on our facility because a student that our advisor had hired to do some painting wasn't on the "authorized list," and demanded authorization from our advisor. Otherwise they were going to escort him from the premises. I happily informed them that our advisor's wife had just gone into labor not 20 minutes beforehand, and so he probably wouldn't be answering his phone, but we could produce an email chain verifying that the guy was authorized to be there and that he wasn't illegally painting our bathroom. That wasn't good enough, and so long story short we had to get the dean of our college involved and he told them to bugger off. This happened again when we left our high school intern (a 16-year-old kid who probably weighed 120lbs dripping wet) to use the oscilloscope unattended. Campus security apparently thought he was a gang member who had broken in to hide drugs in the o-scope, because when I arrived on scene the officer had the kid cornered and had his hand on his gun. Fortunately at this point I was able to put people on the "authorized list" so I was able to assure the campo that this 120lb Chinese kid wasn't a threat to anyone. I've had plenty of good interactions with campus security too, to be fair. However they're trying to become an actual police department and as long as stuff like this keeps happening I can't condone that.
