The article isn't entirely accurate. Flight time would be right around 7.8 seconds. Could have been standing or siting anywhere. It also says they had to calculate for the curvature of the earth. Well, you have to calculate for your inclination but I think they were trying to say that you have to calculate for the Coriolis effect. In any case, it's a great shot. My new rifle should be able to do it with some frequency.

The difference in vertical correction at that distance when shooting due East vs. due West, at my current latitude is 177"!!!

375 CheyTac. Not looking at. I own it. Hill Country has hit with it out to over 4200 yards. That particular shot took a lot of tries. Out to 3600 though, they hit a 36" gong with regularity.

I use a US Optics ER 5-25 x 58mm on my DT HTI for both the 375CT and 50BMG conversion. I haven't gone past 2000yds but I think it would be doable w/ this scope.

I've had a Schmidt fixed power 10x. It was very clear. I have a 5-25x Vortex Razor, and I can't imagine taking it half that far.

They make backyard telescopes you can see details on the moon with.

I'm guessin' 2-3 miles is very doable on a rifle scope.
