I can get "Hollywood " quiet with my 300 Whisper AR15, 300 Whisper Contender, 300 Blackout AAC Micro 7, .308 bolt Rem.700, and various .22 rifles and pistols. You have to have subsonic ammo. When I built that Whisper around 12 years ago only JD Jones of SSK Ind. was selling them. It took a lot of R&D to get it to cycle subsonics. Shooting the .308 bolt guns on steel all you here is the gas escaping and ding ( if you hit the steel ). Come to Ponca and try them out.

Tirant 9 is hollywood quiet on my CZ Duty with 158 gr subsonics, about as loud as a pellet gun on longer barreled 9mm and about as loud as a nail gun on 300blk subsonic.

I've used a Silencerco Sparrow on my Savage .22 rifle. If I use the Quiet Subsonic ammo which I think is about 750 fps, you basically only hear the trigger action and a light pellet gun sound. Anything in the 1130+ range yields a sharp but muffled crack. The good thing about the Sparrow is it can be broken down with 0 tools, scraped out and re-assembled in just 2 minutes. I'm waiting for approval on a Sig Sauer 338 can which I will use on a 6.5 Grendel, 300 winmag and 338 Lapua. Issue to resolve is the only Sig adapter that fits any of my guns is the 5/8-24 on the 300. The Grendel is 9/16-24 and the Armalite .338 is 3/4-24. I don't understand why their proprietary adapter (uses about a 1 1/4 inch threaded end) doesn't come in at least the 3/4-24 for the 338, since that's actually the caliber it was made for. If I have to, I'll use an adapter from the 5/8-24 to X.

Anyone that wants to come to Ponca City and try mine is welcome. I have 6 .22 cans by SWR and Yankee Hill, a Gemtech .45 Blackside, and an AAC .30 Cyclone. You can get Hollywood quiet in my .300 Whisper and .308 Win. with subsonics.
