Caught this chicken snake when I went to go clean the chicken house just now.
Hmmm... *****in catch. How are them cacti doing in this wet weather?
I absolutely love snakes.
One of my 7 footers absorbed too much water and fell over. So I busted it up and spread it around on the pistol range.
Man, this is just absolutely awesome. I am so excited about this!
I've seen him out there before, but he always took off before I could get him. This time, though, I found him resting in one of the nesting boxes.
I put him in one of my terrariums for further study. This is just excellent!
That is one pretty snake. Kudos for not beheading it.
I still have not found any information on a shiny royal blue snake with a hog nose and yellow stripes down the sides.
I seen it near Eufaula lake during deer season on a rocky terrain mountain top of sort. was a small snake about 1 foot or so long.
Copper headed rattle moccasin......
I quit doing snakes ten years ago; they are escape artists and difficult to find when they get loose in the house. I didn't like doing the live food thing, either. I'll be turning this guy loose in the chicken house before the hens go back to roost, and he can catch more mice and rats. But I couldn't resist - he was just resting there in the nesting box, coiled up like a rope...
