Hey guys,

We're now supposed to keep our car tag when we sell/trade a vehicle.

What happens if we sell/trade it in Texas? Are we still supposed to keep the tag? Is Texas even playing the game that way?

Also... if I buy a 2015 vehicle in Texas, are there taxes to be paid when I get an OK title for it?

In case you can't tell, we haven't bought a vehicle since 2005... :/

Yes, you keep the tag. The tag is issued to you, not the vehicle. Texas law doesn't apply.

Taxes? There's always taxes lol. IIRC, it doesn't matter where you bought it, OTC will want their cut when you apply for a title transfer and registration.

Just don’t let Texas charge you taxes. You’ll owe at least excise tax in ok, not sure about sales tax. Be sure to tell the seller your taxes are due in ok not tx. Sometimes they try to make you pay there as well.
