I have always held and will continue to hold to this thought, If you are a CCW holder you should carry your pistol in a secure and well made concealing holster, if I dont see it, you dont have it and I dont have to care.

I was at the Zoo on Father's Day and all of the stores and offices around the main entrance had gun buster signs. The Zoo entrance itself is not posted with a no carry sign.

The main food court is not posted nor is the Sea Lion show area.

Concealed means concealed..how owuld anyone know?

Don't ask about it and damn sure don't tell

"Any structure, building, or office space which is owned or leased by a city, town, county, state, or federal governmental authority for the purpose of conducting business with the public;"....

Thanks Guy's this was the part of the law that I wasn't certain about sinceI wasn't sure exactly who owned the zoo.

In Kansas only building can be posted and on my recent visit to the zoo in Wichita. I made sure not to go into the ticket booth since it was posted.

There's still an issue there.

The City of OKC does not own the zoo. The zoo is owned by the OKC Zoo Trust. The City of OKC is just a beneficiary to that trust.

Im not going to pretend how that works out in respects to the quote above, but I think its something I would like to know.

I agree that if you are concealing correctly, who will know... but if you apply that to the SDA excluded places, you are a carrying unlawful and therefor a criminal. We arent talking about gunbuster locations not listed in the SDA. [last paragraph not really directed at you doctrup.]

I work for a City trust and believe me, as far as we're concerned, we're owned by the City. For example, the Chairman and Trustees of our trust is the Mayor and City Council. I don't have a lot of background on how or why the zoo trust was set up, but our trust was started so it could carry debt. That's an over-simplification...but pretty much it.

They dont' have a gunbuster on the main gate... but there are a couple pasted on the windows near the ticket office in that main courtyard.

They way those are posted... one could assume that they prohibit guns in the offices or shops. If they really intend for those signs to cover the whole zoo... the main, first gate you pass through should be marked.

The OKSO has a substation in that courtyard... I wonder if they would offer a gun check ..or escort back to your locked gun that was left on the parking lot?

Well Had a Great time in OKC this weekend. Went to the Zoo, As the Local's refer to it "The Bombing". Ate dinner Sat. night at Primo's in Midway City, and checked out the Bass Pro, in Bricktown. Have to come back some time and check out the Science center and Cowboy Hall of Fame.
