I love going to the fair...

... but my gf and I usually are there around 8 AM to check out the livestock shows. We try to be done and gone by noon. Don’t think many bangers will be hanging around cows that early in the morning.

Make sure it’s well concealed, I went last year and there was a very strong police presence and I’m sure they’d just ask you to leave if they saw you printing but better to not have to leave early!

The Oklahoma State Fairgrounds and the Tulsa State Fairgrounds are now prohibited places, as of Nov. 1, 2017.

Title 21 1290.22
D. No person, property owner, tenant, employer, holder of an event permit, place of worship or business entity shall be permitted to establish any policy or rule that has the effect of prohibiting any person from carrying a concealed or unconcealed firearm on property within the specific exclusion provided for in paragraph 4 of subsection B of Section 1277 of this title; provided that carrying a concealed or unconcealed firearm may be prohibited in the following places:
3.The fairgrounds during the Oklahoma State Fair or the Tulsa State Fair; and

The way I read that, the State Fairgrounds, during either of the State Fairs, is a PROHIBITED place, providing the State Fair posts it as such.

Personally, I'd rather avoid the crappy place than be their test subject.

Look at HB 3353 from 2017 that was signed by the Gov on 4/23/2018

http://webserver1.lsb.state.ok.us/cf_pdf/2017-18 ENR/hB/HB3353 ENR.PDF

From what I can tell, this bill removed the state fair language from the SDA.

UNLAWFUL CARRY IN CERTAIN PLACES

handgun license issued pursuant to the provisions of the Oklahoma
Self-Defense Act to carry any concealed or unconcealed handgun into

leased by a city, town, county, state or federal governmental
authority for the purpose of conducting business with the public;
2. Any courthouse, courtroom, prison, jail, detention facility
or any facility used to process, hold or house arrested persons,
prisoners or persons alleged delinquent or adjudicated delinquent,
except as provided in Section 21 of Title 57 of the Oklahoma
Statutes;
3. Any public or private elementary or public or private
secondary school, except as provided in subsections C and D of this
section;
4. Any publicly owned or operated sports arena or venue during
a professional sporting event, unless allowed by the event holder;

the provisions of this section;
ENR. H. B. NO. 3353 Page 3

4. Any property designated by a city, town, county or state
governmental authority as a park, recreational area, wildlife
refuge, wildlife management area or fairgrounds; provided, nothing
in this paragraph shall be construed to authorize any entry by a
person in possession of a concealed or unconcealed handgun into any
structure, building or office space which is specifically prohibited
by the provisions of subsection A of this section; and
5. Any property set aside by a public or private elementary or
secondary school for the use or parking of any vehicle, whether
attended or unattended; provided, however, said the handgun shall be
stored and hidden from view in a locked motor vehicle when the motor
vehicle is left unattended on school property.
Nothing contained in any provision of this subsection or
subsection C of this section shall be construed to authorize or
allow any person in control of any place described in subsection A
of this section to establish any policy or rule that has the effect
of prohibiting any person in lawful possession of a handgun license
from possession of a handgun allowable under such license in places
described in this subsection.

I don't see where that has changed anything with §1290.22.

Exactly - 1290.22 specifically overrides 1277, is the way I read it. Putting these statues in different sections makes it difficult, but 1290.22 specifically references 1277 subsection B, paragraph 4, and expounds on it, using the specific word "prohibited", which is the trigger word, to me.

Like I said, I don't know, I'm not a lawyer, nor a judge, nor a law enforcement officer. But I'll just refrain from going to some place that I have no good reason to attend AND where I'm specifically forbidden by the owner/tenant and possibly by law. It's just not worth it to me - if ya'll want to test it, be my guest, I'd just ask if you do get noticed, don't make a scene and try to put a nice face on gun ownership in Oklahoma.
