One of my company's Ford 250 work trucks had the catalytic converter stolen back in March. It was parked in an ungated parking lot in an industrial area along Reno & Sara road region in OKC.

Son and DIL had their RV parked for sale near our house. Sat there all day Sunday, went to pick it up, I heard them coming down the street. I meet them, Son says there is an exhaust leak, I say yea, your CC was stolen. Sure enough, it's gone, F450. They sold the RV that day, new owner wanted it the same way he saw it, cost them $1500 to get it replaced. Fast forward a couple of weeks and I hear their Element start when they were leaving, they got the CC on it too. It was rampant in Tulsa, Elements and Prius were the primary targets.

Would be nice if the law was changed to make scrap dealers hold converters for 30 days once purchased, so Law enforcement can go inspect them for stolen converters and sellers have to provide vin's / proof of ownership of said vehicle. Probably wont ever happen though.

Uhaul is pretty serious about it. This was the 26’ box truck I rented last week.

Um, where do I sell the one that was “stolen” when I put on my headers, overripe, etc?
Ebay is paying pretty good on them now. Most core places are going to rip you off. They are priced by numbers stamped on them. Send me the number/s and I will give you an approximate value.
