Had my cataract surgery done at the Southwest Eye Clinic by Dr. David Mallory. (Yes, his name is a link to his history.) I had mine done around May of 2013 as my regular optometrist told me that the best he could do to correct my vision would be 20/25 with glasses. He also stated that within a year, I would NEED the cataract surgery. Prior to the surgery, my vision without glasses was 20/400. As with others, I can't remember the names of the lenses, but the one in my right eye is "close-focus" because of an astigmatism, and the other eye has a lens for long distance. I only need reading glasses, although I do have two pairs of glasses, one for night driving so that I can read street signs and the other is for shooting. I've been pretty happy with my lenses and haven't had any problems. The anesthesiologist that worked with Dr. Mallory was great. I felt like I was "swaddled" during the surgeries. With the first surgery (right eye), I went in as a nervous wreck because of my concern for my vision for my photography. The first one went so well, that during the second surgery for the left eye, they stopped mid procedure and the nurse told me that I REALLY needed to take a deep breath. Apparently, I was so relaxed that I was breathing shallow and they weren't sure about me.
