Changing registration from individual to a trust.

Registered my first NFA project (SBS) as an individual a while back and am now putting together the info to create a family trust. What is necessasary to change the registration and add it to the trust? Hoping its not another pretty little $200 stamp.

It will require a Form 4 ($200 tax) transfer from You to Your Trust. They are 2 seperate legal entities.

There is no real hassle to pass on NFA items owned by an individual. They transfer tax free on an ATF Form 5 to your lawful heir.

If that's what you're worried about, save the $200 and get a will.

Isn't that the point of registering NFA weapons to a trust? If passing them to family is only a paper shuffle, hell with it. I'll throw $200 into my can fund.
We're working on a trust anyway, for the more common reasons.

Really the only advantage to using a trust for NFA is to bypass a douche CLEO.
