Cash is legal tender for all debts public and private. You can carry around all the cash you want to, LE should never be allowed to take your property without due process. We as Americans have a founding document that states that.

These are your rights as well as others, fight for them.
In my head I hear "summary execution for tyranny".
Damnit, not trying to get hammered...

Personally, I would rather avoid the situation in the first place,,,
I passed on a nice used truck a year ago,,,
Seller wanted 8K in cash only.

I am always a bit leery of "cash only" purchases in the thousands,,,
My cashiers check is legal tender as well,,,
Or at least legitimate tender.

If the seller won't take a cashiers check,,,
I ain't buying his product.

Fighting for my rights is one thing,,,
Trying to get money back from a corrupt local government is another.

Aarond

.

How does the seller know your cashiers check is legit? It ain’t hard to print up a fake one of those. It happens every single day.

Not in Oklahoma!
I don't have any particular problem with the criminal seizures
Well, I would go as far as saying that there must be actual proof as what is subject to forfeiture must be guilty of a actual crime.

The so called "war on drugs" is a war on people and also war on cash in disguise!

Too many innocent people getting railroaded from prosecuting attorneys!

Great idealism but in reality, that doesn't work anymore. We SHOULD be able to carry around all the cash we want, and so on, but unfortunately the public fell in line with the LEO that sponsored this legislation and lobbied it to fund the departments the county wouldn't.
Great Idea said the county commissioners. We can use the money we used to use to fund the sheriff's dept to buy gravel to fix roads now. The LEO dept can fund themselves, and they did using the civil forfeiture laws currently in place.
That's how all that came about, and it's wrong.

It's usually not hard to tell when a forum has been bought by VerticalScope...

How is that? I'm an admin on another forum ran by VerticalScope.
I'd like to hear your take on this. You can speak freely as I have no say on this forum and would not disparage your comments if you went to the other.
