Sell the barrel, buy a mid length gas or 18" rifle, get a quality handguard, grip and buttstock and you could have a decent rifle for around $500

Primary Arms has a pretty smoking deal on a good looking AR. I don't know too much about Radical Firearms, but the 300 BO barrel that I have from them seems to work just fine.

I've got a question that I didn't think of before, but if you buy the parts seperate, does the lower or upper come with a s/n and have be transferred by a FFL? Say if I just bought a stripped lower and a stripped upper from Anderson then pieced it together.

The only part that has to go through the FFL is the lower. That is what THEY consider a firearm. And that's why 80% lowers are a thing (no serial number, no FFL, no ATF).

i think a rifle under $350 that goes bang is a decent rifle.

I built 3 of the PSA Freedom stainless rifles with 16" barrel and 1:7 twist and an 80% lower.
Every one will shoot MOA or better groups.
I like the PSA Freedom stainless..No Idea on the other ones.
But the price is decent.
My wifes has the regular hand guard and mine has a free float and it makes No difference in accuracy.

I use H4895 and cci 450 primers with Federal cases all annealed each time Bullet is 55 or 60 gr V max No crimp.
.003" neck tension, seated mag length.
