Had a SOG and a 5.11 lock blade I keep in coat pockets for many years. The 5.11 took an exceptionally keen edge. Both pretty cheap knives. Just remembered, a few years ago, got stuck on an icy exit ramp slope on my way to work. Donated some sand out of one of the bags weighing down the bed of my truck. Stabbed/slashed open the end of the bag with one of my cheap, winter coat knives. Did think briefly what that did to the knife edge, but it eased my mind that it was one of my cheap knives.

These are not the firearms you're looking for.

My main carry knife is a Kershaw Ken Onion Chive --- the action is extremely smooth and "it wheeeel cut"! Got it for half price a year or so ago. Also carry at times the Kershaw Shuffle mentioned above.

I've bought several knives off of woot.com
They frequently have Kershaw and CRKT knives at closeout (sub-$30) prices, and I've picked up a few from them. They actually have a few for sale right now at https://www.woot.com/category/sport/outdoor-recreation . The sub-$30 and sub-$50 Kershaws are surprisingly good knives with build quality on par with much more expensive knives; some of the low-end CRKTs, though, have a tendency to show off their inexpensiveness.

The knife I carry in my pocket on duty/off duty, everywhere, every time, every single day, is the Victorinox Pioneer Alox. I've owned it for about 7/8 years now. It is my constant companion. I think I paid right around 20 bucks (+/-) for it from Amazon.
