The motor in the Bolt also comes from South Korea.

Supplier quality issue. Hard to detect and you sometimes require the supplier to do their own testing for quality control. Takata airbag recalls hit all manufacturers but same concept.

Every Chevrolet Bolt EV and Bolt EUV that GM has made is under recall because their batteries could be defective and cause a fire.

Lots of jobs for Okies because of it. GM asked company to move to Detroit, CEO is expanding in OKC and all GM battery testing will be done here. The silver lining!
