    It was awesome. After all day cooking slow, the rib bones pulled out easy with the tongs and the meat fell apart.

    Hmmm...

    ...10 pages later and the folks that like beans in their chili are still way ahead in the poll.

    I think the "non-bean chili respondents" are just afraid of gas.

    Yup, I don't add sugar myself. But the Jiffy does have some sugar in it. It's not overly sweet to me like some are through. But making it myself at home, Jiffy is all I know.

    Chilli shouldn't have beans in it. But I got no problem adding them later to make a 3 or 4 way. I rarely eat chilli without dressing it up or putting it over noodles or Fritos.

    Way over cooked.
    Ribs need a little"Bite" to them.
    Fall off the bone will put you in last place in a cooking competition.

    I don't like overly tender / meat falling off the bone ribs either.......when eating I like a little "tug" left in them.

    He was cooking them into a pot of beans. Like you would a ham hock. I think you'd want them shredding into beans that way?
