I was a table games dealer at west west siloam for a little bit. One night when the progressive jackpot was pretty high for a royal flush one of the players mentioned to the others that if everyone makes the bet they have better chance to win and that the winner would share 1000 with each of the other participants. Well the lady that brought it up won probably 30 minutes later. The poor people that didn't buy in would have only been out probably$20 lol

But I can tell you this, this is no lie. I was competing in a “Rapid Fire” drawing last year when they were calling out winners every 30 minutes. Well I shet you not - they called out Vince Taylor! I thought to myself, “Vince Taylor came up out of Hell to compete in this drawing @ the Choctaw!” Well it wasn’t three minutes until the lady announced over the PA system that Vince Taylor had claimed his prize! And so I guess, Vince Taylor went back into Hell, a winner of more than a chicken dinner!

Now, it seems like they were giving away $5,000 every thirty minutes in that Rapid Fire. And damn my soul if Vince didn’t show up and win 5K!

Edit: I knew of Vince by virtue of the fact that Golden Earring had a song about him on their 1972 “Moontan” album.

The second time I won a drawing occurred simultaneously with a “MEGA WIN!!!” on an older slot machine. That machine was going off with all the bella and whistles and the cash amount just kept multiplying and my attention was on the machine. It just kept multiplying. That’s when they called out my name as the winner of the drawing, over the PA system. I had ten minutes to get to the awards desk, but I couldn’t leave my machine i free spin like that, the win climbing higher and higher, and with the growing number of spectators. To make a long story short, the machine finally behaved itself and I withdrew my ticket. Then headed to the awards desk, to claim my second drawing win at the casino. Purported to be $10,000, like the first one I won. Wrong answer - it was a shot at $10,000; I had to punch out a perforated circle on a box and there was a dollar figure on the back of it. It ranged from $75 to $10,000, I believe. I had to think fast, this was

This is sure a strange thread..., it sounds like they give away so much money that they must be borrowing from China to build that big building. Next we'll hear that if you just drive into the parking lot the attendant will come running out to your car with a brand new one hundred dollar bill.

DavidMcMillan, I don’t know if any other casino has drawings. But they have an app you can download that shows what drawings are coming up. They are called “Promotions.” I work sometimes six days a week, and cover shifts no one else wants. So I don’t get a shot at the big gun drawings which occur on weekends. But yes, lots of Chinese there. I believe about 75% of the regulars drive up from Dallas. I live nearby. It is literally an oasis in a cultural desert.
