Cleaning media question

Quick question on cleaning media... whats the average life expectancy of corn husks for cleaning brass? I've cleaned around 8,000 rounds of brass with the husks in there now. I just put in a capful of the dillon brass polish every time and let it run for about 2 hours and they come out looking brand new. I'm curious, because these are the same husks that I've had since I've started a year and a half ago.

Okay. Mines about half grey now but still cleans in about 2 hours so I guess I'll just hold off until it gets taking a lot longer.

Sorry I meant cob not husks.

You can throw a couple used dryer sheets in with the media and it will clean your media and make it last a bit longer.

I used dryer sheets for a while, but I found that dampened paper towels work even better. Brass comes out without the dust on it.

Hmm, Well might have to give that a try!! I have been using Brasso on my media and it has been lasting a Lot longer...

Don't use Brasso! The ammonia in it attacks the brass and will shorten case life.

Dillon Rapid Polish is a good product to get your brass shiny. Apparently car wax from Wally World works pretty well too, and is a lot cheaper!
