When running the 22LR conversion bolt and mags in an AR, does the gas tube length matter? Can it reliably function with a mid or rifle length?
Thank you
Thank you
I believe they are blowback operated, so you probably wouldn’t even need a gas tube for it to function. When running the 22LR conversion bolt and mags in an AR, does the gas tube length matter? Can it reliably function with a mid or rifle length?

That would make sense. I just ASSumed since it was going in a standard AR upper it would utilize the existing gas tube?I believe they are blowback operated, so you probably wouldn’t even need a gas tube for it to function.
Good to know. I will order one.No gas tube needed. You should grab the CMMG charging handle for their 22 kit. It will cut down on stoppages
Like others mentioned it is straight blow back. The little bit of gas that comes back in the tube just blows right into the upper receiver because you’re 22 conversion has no gas key on it like a regular bolt carrier does. So The gas tube length doesn’t matter. Being blow back it would work without one a matter what. When running the 22LR conversion bolt and mags in an AR, does the gas tube length matter?
