If they say no or give you some story about how safe their guns are, walk away. </p><p></p><p>If you have basic welding and wood working skills and tools my recommendation would be look at <a href="https://hernironworks.com/product-category/coehorn-mortar/" target="_blank">Coehorn Mortar | Hern Iron Works</a> . You can get plans for this gun from <a href="http://gunneyg.info/html/AOPCatalog.htm" target="_blank">Antique Ordnance Publishers - 2020 Catalog Sheets</a> Plan set 22. The negative side is that metal prices are high so you definitely want to recover them to reshoot them.</p><p></p><p>I don't make a or sell mortars, any more. I do have them in my personal collection. I am getting old and these are just collecting dust in the back of the shop, I could be persuaded to part with one or two.</p><p></p><p>I would also be willing to help you find a safe gun out there.
