I was wondering about this case - last I heard, the suspect was still in a coma, with a poor chance of recovery. That brought up a question I had; let's say the doctors confirm the suspect is brain dead and will not come out of his coma. What happens to the life support issue? Is the state required to keep him on life support indefinitely if no one comes forward as a family member or guardian who can take on the responsibility of pulling the plug or keeping him alive? In addition, if the state takes it upon itself to pull the plug, can they harvest his organs for donations - again, assuming no one comes forward to claim the body? Not trolling. Just wondered about what I consider to be valid issues.
