I remember reading about this and it seems that California-NTM thought it was too expensive to maintain the towers that the repeaters were located on . Meanwhile in other idiotic news, California-NTM has completed a whole whopping 200 miles of the 500 mile Billion $ 'high speed rail' project from Los Angeeles to San Francisco.
