Converting a Garand to 308 Win

Has here anyone done this themselves? I've just started researching this and it sounds simple enough. A few places don't charge that much to do it, but I like the idea of tackling it myself. If you have any tips or tools that you might be share, I'm all ears. Thanks.

in the military we used Garands for comp back in the day we simply used a Chamber adaptor that once inserted stays in until you use a broken shell extractor to remove it that allows you to use the 308 in the 30-06 they worked great and accuracy did not suffer I still have one I use on an 03 springfield
