Celebrating my daughter’s 28th birthday and rather than a cake she asked for a pecan pie. One of these days I’m going to figure out how to make these.

Day after Christmas brisket.
Bought a new pellet grill/smoker today --- a Green Mountain Grill. Peak Prime 2.0. My 20yr old Weber natural gas literally took a big dump a couple of evenings ago. The entire bottom fell out of the bottom of the grill while I was turning the meat...damn near got my foot and leg! Will be delivered the middle of next week. This should combine the functions of my old grill and filing cabinet smoker.

Microwave chicharrones??? SERIOUSLY?? Honestly thought what a gimmick when my wife brought them home - was out shopping with girlfriends and saw them. We both love chicharrones so why not try.
DAMN, these are good! Gotta microwave in a brown paper bag but they're popping just like straight outta the fryer! Mix up your own seasoned salt as these are plain but surprisingly good. A little drop or two of Cholula was good on them too. https://www.microwaveporkrinds.com/
