In your momma’s bedroom.
We’ve had a landline since we moved in our house. We got a deal where if we got one it would be free and we would save just under $20 a month on our cellular plan. We’ve never plugged a phone into it over the past 5 years.

Walmart used to sell replacement batteries for some of the cordless handsets (looked like those in post # 14 above). I replaced one years ago in an AT&T cordless phone, I think it was.

VTech home phone here NO cell phone by the way.

Come on guys you are better than this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That battery pack is 4th grade science.
2 re-chargeable AAA batteries wired together and some heat shrink.
I have built my own battery packs for my VTech phones I use Tape not heat shrink.

I do solder the wires to the battery ends.
Way cheaper than buying a battery pack.

Obtain two cans taken from someone's trash.
Wash them and punch a small hole in each of the closed ends of the cans.
Obtain long string found in the local packing and shipping company's trash.
Put each of the ends of the string through the small holes you punched in the cans and tie a knot in the string ends.
Pull the string taut between the cans and talk to your heart's content at no cost!

Just kidding, swampratt. I have great admiration for your survival and commonsense postings, both areas where I find myself often lacking!

I take great offense in the above posting.
I would never make the trek to a packing and shipping company for string.

I have a trot line and multiple bean cans and could make a party line with all the drops.
Gee Wiz!

:)
