According to the OK Dept of Health, this is the current availability, which is 166 adult ICU beds available. If 16% = 166 adult ICU available, then there are 1,038 total adult ICU beds.

There is 638 hospitalized positive cases and hospitalized persons under investigation. I doubt all are in ICU, but if they are, that would be about 61% of the ICU beds being populated by Covid patients.

*This number is a combination of hospitalized positive cases and hospitalized persons under investigation, as reported by hospitals at the time of the report. The data reflect a change in calculation and should not be compared to prior data.

There are some good data points at the OK DoH.

From yesterday's Executive Report 168 ICU beds available out of 1,013. That's 845 people in ICU.

247 of those are COVID or under investigation for COVID.

So 29% of current ICU patients are in for COVID. That's not a problem now, but if we were in flu season or if another virus pops up, it could be an issue. That's what flattening the curve was all about I guess.

Those are the numbers I was trying to find instead of trying to back into them.

The number of ICU beds compared to the population. 1013 beds available with a total population estimate of 3.9M. That's 0.026%. No wonder they are panicked.

I'm still waiting for some first person proof of all of these "I know someone who knows someone that never got tested but got a positive notice" stories LOL
