How has everyone faired so far crappie fishing? I haven’t had a chance to go yet this year, but that will hopefully change Sunday.

    Anyone else gone yet?

I can't get out until Saturday, making sure I take shorts and rain gear also, the weather forecast looks weird.

According to the ODW fishing report, they are still holding at 15-25' in the winter pattern, but in the next few weeks with the warmer weather, they will be moving toward the spawn areas on Northern lakes. Southern lakes this may already be happening.

The crappie are moving towards shallower water now. I was catching crappie 10 - 12' in January though.

For the past couple years my dad and I have been getting together once a week to go during the spring and summer.
I’m ready to get this season going.

The best tasting fish with the absolute worst name! It tastes like "crappie"!

A kid at work fished Arcadia Monday eve and took a few slabs home.
I’m going up to my lease tomorrow and give the crappie a try

The big slabs are biting like crazy now! I have seen several stringers of crappie with the smallest one weighing over a pound.

I would think this warmer weather, especially warmer at night will get these fish moving closer to the bank. Anyone caught any shallow? 4’ or less?
