I am NOT suggesting or endorsing road hunting or vigilantes BUT

Last Friday a 79 yo farmer was out checking cows and encountered white car, Texas tags, stopped in the middle of the road (a county dirt road, 1 mile east of Hwy 65 and 3 miles north of Temple, OK). The hood was up with a "Mexican" man looking under the hood. Another was in the car.

He stopped to offer assistance and was struck in the head by a third assailant "tire iron, it is believed".

He was robbed and left in the road unconscious.

He came to, after an undetermined time, drove himself to the hospital (20 miles), where he received stitches and notified Sheriff.

He is recovering at home.

Nothing else is known, no leads at this time.

Be careful out there, tis the season.

Good info but kind of random turkey...did you mean to put this in the General Discussion forum instead?

It is my cousin, was just rambling. Main point is be careful out there. That time of year when robberies go up. And farmers, ranchers, hunters, outdoors people are in remote, densely populated areas. There's probably very few, if any here who would not stop for a disabled vehicle.
