My DW story …. Short version, yes. I have owned a lot of Colt 1911’s. From a Pachmayr Combat Special (that I wish I still had) to a Behlert “Street Package”. My most recent Colt 1911 was a gun I found at Bud’s, a Colt 1911 “Concealed Carry Government”. Great gun but the finish looked like the used “water colors”. Had a cerakote finish put on it … looks amazing now. Moral to my Colt story, I have never owned a Colt that was perfect out of the box. On the flip side of my recent Colt is a Dan Wesson 9mm Valor. Absolutely perfect. Fit and finish is flawless. Trigger breaks at 3.5#. Out of a rest at 25 yards it will print quarter size group with any ammo I have ran through it. It does not have the traditional barrel bushing which takes a little getting used to. I have a boat load of plastic/rubber coated paper clips that work well to take the DW down. Based on my experience … Highly recommend Dan Wesson.
