I can't believe I didn't see this until this morning. He was a legend in Wrestling in Oklahoma!

Yes, RIP. Amazing hand strength. He was still crushing apples way up into his later years.

He was an Oklahoma legend. I met him several times working special events. He was a member of the state boxing commission and always showed up at the Wrestling events.

Used to watch him on Championship Wrestling at my grandmother's house just about every Friday night.

Years ago, he would show up at wrestling tournaments all the time.
I would point him out to the kids I coached and tell them he was a wrestling legend.
I'd also tell them to go introduce themselves to him and shake his hand.....they always came back holding one hand with the other.
(if you ever met him and shook his hand, you'd understand)
Sometimes I'd give the kids an apple and tell them "Mr. Hodge loves apples. They're his favorite. Go say "Hi" to him and offer him this apple." Mr. Hodge would always oblige and take the apple.....the proceed to crush it with one hand and give it back to them.
Great guy. Represented the state of Oklahoma and wrestling in the best ways possible.
Sad to see him go.

Years ago the lady that lived next door had a flat tire out on I-35. Hodge stopped and changed it for her. RIP
