    Great for things that are close to going out of date that are on sale.
    The store we grocery shop at had a 5lb block of Wisconsin cheese that was a week away for $8. Snagged it up, divided it into quarters, and vacuum sealed it.
    (for the record, expiration dates on food is a joke. It doesn't go bad the day after the date. Federal law only states that baby food must have an expiration date. The date on the cans/bags, etc is for when the company determines that it will taste the freshest, not go bad.)

    Yeah, I do that too.

    I can usually pick up 12-14 oz ribeyes for around 3 bucks...sometimes less!

    Vacumm seal 'em and stick 'em in the freezer
