Let’s be honest, half the folks here have said something vaguely similar only it is as aimed at Pres Obama. This representative is an inconsistent idiot but has actually stumbled over the actual purpose of the 2nd Amendment. The 2A is not to preserve hunting rights nor primarily to frustrate criminals, it is to ensure that government doesn’t have a monopoly on the use of force in order to promote security against an enemy but also to prevent overreach by a tyrant.
Of course, the Founding Fathers also assumed that rational, moral, free citizens would set a very high bar before taking such action. Likewise they assumed that the state ( both State and Federal) would always keep in mind that pushing citizens too far was a bad idea.
Unlike with the representative in question - idiots appealing emotionally to idiots was NOT their plan.

It's obvious. The liberals only want people who are on their side and willing to stand with them to have guns. All tyrannical regimes take that stance. Be careful, though. After those useful idiots have done their dirty work, they will be eliminated.

Yep, he just gave a lot of points to the gun owner's arguments against gun control.
