Democrats are just trying to give the appearance of cleaning house so they can attack the Republicans over the election of Roy Moore. Democrats know that another Liberal will fill Franken's spot, he was sacrificed for the "cause". Attacking Moore will give the Democrats a battering ram well into 2018..

Agreed. They're far more concerned about taking a solid red Senate seat in Alabama away from the GOP, even if it's just until the next election for that seat. Seeing as Senate seats are for 6 years, that would give the Dems a seat they don't deserve until January, 2021.

Anyone who says this isn't about politics, is lying. :(

Gonna need lots of coloring books, fluffy puppies and soothing music over on DU. They're having a meltdown over Franken resigning. And guess what, it's all the Republicans fault...:hithead:

No! He has the backing of Trump and the RNC. So why quit now? Even McConnell has even changed his tune. Well a little anyway!
People like McConnell, and in particular that AZ cuck Jeff Flake don't seem to understand that it's about more than just one man. If they run and hide every time things get tough, they'll never win even on the tactical level. The Alabama Senate seat is strategic. We can always put Moore under heavy scrutiny and force his resignation if necessary, but a Doug Jones win would have serious ramifications for the next THREE YEARS! Not to mention the fact that if you let the Dems get away with an 11th hour smear campaign which conveniently happens after the candidates are locked in, you'll be encouraging a LOT more of them in the future.

I'm sure I'd dislike Moore as a person based on his penchant for bible thumping and yes, I'm sure he's probably a hypocrite. But what he did 40 years ago is a lot less critical in the grand scheme of things, than what the Dems can do with a Doug Jones win over the next three years. :(
