I personally think the Mark 7's were the best version of the Desert Eagle. The VII introduced the modifications that later became the X1X platform for all. I loaded up over 1k rounds of .44 mag and .357 mag just for my Desert Eagle that I had purchased. Unlike all the others I have had in the past, this one was a POS. Former owners shot lead through it and effectively ruined both. I have been on the hunt for a .357 mag, .41 mag, and .44 mag multi-caliber version off and on. I seem to only find the later type (without .41 mag). I wouldn't mind getting a .50 A.E. though. Sad thing is, I don't even have a .357 mag now, and my only .44 mag is a 1967 Ruger 44 mag fingergroove sporter carbine in mint condition. It isn't going to be shot. So, I wait... :-)
