I had a crystal radio built from radio shak kit. Didn't work. Didn't have anyone in my life who could help me figure it out. I see a project for my son n I!!!

My buddy had a crystal radio when we were kids. KOMA used to come thru our phone line when we lived in Moore in the '80's.
LOL, yeah probably just the right distance from the station and when they have the Inductive coils as amplifiers. Can't remember the exact name of the thing but basically all the phone lines for a neighborhood would go into this big coil and the lines not in use would help to power the others through induction. They have greatly fallen out of favor now as DSL can not be used with them but if you go out to an area without DSL and large distances between homes you will see a big silver inverted mixing bowl every so often.
