Do i need an offset mount for my Vortex 6-24x50 on an AR

starting a 6.5 Grendel build and wondering if I can use the nightforce rings I already have or do I need an offset mount? Stock will be an adjustable Luth-AR.

It depends largely on your use of the rifle, and your head position. I have to use the extended mounts on an AR to get the scope forward enough for me, especially if shooting prone.

You can check easily enough if you note where your face is when you shoulder the rifle, then measure forward using the eye relief from the scope specs, and observe where that would put the scope mount.

I've never had an AR15 where regular rings would work with any scope. Always need forward mounting type.

Yes you need SPR mount to get it set correctly
