Well, Yes and No. I currently have only four semi-auto pistols and three of the four have from 500-2000 rounds of defensive ammo thru them. However, I don't pay $30 per 20. I usually buy in bulk, 100-500 rounds at a time and my average price is probably $35 per 50. That's still lots of $$. I bought a bunch as I found good prices on it, but have to admit my stock is getting low due to the ammo crunch this past year. Most of what I shoot is Speer GDHP and most was bought in 50 rd LE boxs. Ammo to Go used to be my main supplier and sometimes ammo man in larger quantities. One of my semi-autos is my 1911 which is more of a nostalgic range gun to remind me of my 20+ Army years (a long time ago). It has only had ball in it and I actually had more problems with it when I got it. It's okay now, but my SIGs and my Kahr have never malfunctioned. I actually fire more defensive ammo thru my semi autos than I do my four revolvers because I know the revolvers will go bang. I alternate carry depending on my requirements but am totally confident in my semi-autos. I sure like the revolvers tho!
