Some people are terrified of firearms, but we know if handled correctly are safe. We were taught how to handle firearms safely. We handle firearms carefully but without worry.

Of course if you aren't comfortable with doing it, don't go up and grab one, but it really isn't a big deal. They can't shoot their quills at you. They don't slap you with their tail.

Ol' Tom Orr from the show "Mountain Men" can turn that porcupine into big bucks. I guess those quills are used for lots of stuff.

haven't see a Badger yet either. That would be cool as long as I was in a tree with weapons :-)

Would be cool to see a badger if in a tree with weapons... you know they aren't known to eat men right? They just feast on the women and children.

Look out though, porcupine are excellent climbers. Badgers are really good at hiding.

It is a porky pine. I have shot many over the years and 95% of them have been in a tree when they met their demise. Of course it was with a borrowed firearm.

Porcupine, I have seen one run over on NW Highway from turnpike west at least once a year.
Badgers you don't want to mess with up close. I have a bite mark in the barrel of my Browning 16 ga. from when I poked him. He was crossing country road up around Tescot Ks. and we stopped to look at him. He didn't appreciate being bothered
