Why in the world would one not carry with one chambered? I too am surprised at the number that voted no. Besides it does not matter if a round is chambered or not, the person should be treating the gun as if it has a round even if it does not. Seldom is it a known loaded gun that accidentally kills, it is always one thought to be unloaded. With that observation, carrying without a round chambered could actually be less safe in the hands of the person having that kind of mindset. If that makes any sense.

As an example I saw a guy that shot himself in the knee. He was unloading the pistol to clean it. He always carried with a snap cap in the chamber, but a magazine of live rounds. He pulled the trigger on the snap cap before he was to manually eject it. If he carried with a live round in the chamber and always treated as such, he would still have his original knee today.
