I feel like if you're just looking for plinking ammo or ammo for inside of 400yds you won't notice much difference. Where I have seen differences as ES and SD on your velocities. Basically clean consistent pockets help with less vertical stringing at long range.

I do clean for my DMR loads but for anything meant for CQB it's a useless gesture in my opinion.
And for us dummies, What is DMR and CQB.

I primer pocket ream all my 5.56/.223 brass. Doesn't take that long. Just chuck the reamer
up in a drill and have at. Makes sure all the primers are seated to the correct depth.
Drop an AR bolt on a too high primer and your pucker factor goes off scale for a minute or two. Yes, it is rare, but it do happen

I cleaned them by hand before I started doing wet pin tumbling. But only because I was doing match loads. If I was doing short range/plinking stuff I'd probably not bother, but wet tumbling does it anyway now.
