I've had it for several years and it's been worth it. Me, my wife and two kids on the policy and between all of us, it gets used every year, usually more than once. Flats, dead batteries, water pump hemorrhaging anti freeze down the block. You know, usual stuff. One daughter had a dead battery this winter and it was one AAA replaced a few years ago when my wife was driving the car. They had no problem looking up the old ticket and pro rating a discount based on the age of the battery. AAA came out, replaced battery in the driveway and hauled away the old one. It's something I did all the time back in the day, but Hell, I'm old and it was cold that day. Screw that. I get the "gold" or some such package. It gives you a lot more towing range. Any more, even hooking up for a tow is at least as much as the policy. I think it's about $129/year? I have it on auto renew.
