Dobie Gillis Fans

Dobie (Dwayne Hickman) passed away today from Parkinsons, and surprisingly enough it was on Maynard's birthday (Bob Denver, Gilligan from Gilligan's island).
I wasn't old enough to remember the first release of the show but I really liked it in the 80s on re-runs. It's still shown today on me tv sometimes.

I remember watching Dobie Gillis and as a matter of fact I was just talking about the show yesterday. Dang sad to hear of his passing.

When I had my cataract surgeries in Spring/Summer of 2020, the surgeon did a COVID-19 test right there in his office prior to the surgery. As I was getting ready to leave, he advised me to try to stay away from people until after the surgery. I said, "Yeah, I know. Go home and pull a Howard Hughes, right?"
He said, 'You know, you and I are probably the only two people in this building old enough to understand that reference!'
I'd never thought of it that way.
