Does anybody here allow their children to handle guns unsupervised?

I had a gun rack on the handle bars of my bicycle when I was 10. It was for my .22

Rabbits and squirrels went in a sack or I hung them on a wire hanger.

Different times.
Definitely. I’m not that old and when I was 12 I had a single shot 20 gauge that I was allowed to take across the street to some open land and shoot for a few hours. That would never happen now.

I don't care if it's a gun, knife or bazooka. It's all about the upbringing and mental condition. Just like when you hear about dogs attacking people it usually goes back to their upbringing. The first time I brought a gun into the house I let my kids look and handle it and learn how to safe it. After a while they lost interest and it was like oh it's just another gun. Just like xmas presents if you hide it, they will find it. Make it a "non-event". You hide it they want to find the thing you don't want them to find.
