Does anyone have any ideas where to buy 1/4" sheet rubber or felt for sanders?
I have a few sanders for wood but the backer felt and rubber does not last. It has to be a stick on or glue on pad and I would be open to velcro sticky or regular clamp on sandpaper sheet attachment methods. I have thought of mouse pads but they are worse than the factory backing pad for durability. You can find replacement pads online but usually not for your sander manufacturer or model and the vacuum and screw holes don't match causing a hot spot on your work. Each replacement pad costs from $15 to $20 each. What I want to do is buy the bulk sheet and make my own, especially when I have so many sanders that need them and are sitting unused. Sanders usually cost $50 to $75 and the replacement pads are almost a third of that when you can find them. Anyone know where to find the glue/stickyback rubber velcro sheets?
