Does anyone use Outlook for email and get this box?

Microsoft isn't using it, they're referencing Snattlerake's hotmail account. Microsoft has owned hotmail for a good 25 years now; although it has been replaced by outlook.com, the old hotmail addresses are still valid.

I have seen messages from Microsoft that look very much like that, and I'm pretty sure I've seen that one regarding my work account. As to whether or not it's legit, it depends on what you were doing when it popped up. IIRC, when I saw it was while I was logging into my Microsoft365 account at work, and it was a legit message then.

I have my email up and running whenever I'm online and every now and then this damn box pops up. I usually exit the site and restart Outlook. Sometimes it comes right back, sometimes it doesn't Is this an actual Microsoft feature or am I being scammed?

It is legit. It is not asking you to input data, only to verify it is still valid.
I get them once in a while, mostly when I do a reinstall or major update.

I have protronmail as a back up to my other email it's strong on keeping one safe.
